I’m surprised at how easily confused Orientalism and exotification of Asian folk is confused by POC as appreciation or acceptance of Asian folks.
If anything, that East Asian countries will be seen as “Exotic”, “Better”, or “More Educated” than other POC cultures should be seen as part and parcel of white supremacy and a means to divide POC, with some being able to get scraps from the white table at the expense of others. It shouldn’t be engaged in at all and should be questioned and dismantled.
