It’s funny because I live in a country where white people are the minority and they still act like they have privilege.
It’s ridiculous. “You guys are so barbaric, why do you still tolerate eating dogs?” I’m sorry that your fucking country waged a proxy war in my country and then pulled out leaving us with a burned down and bombed country split in half with an economy that’s down in the shitter and people starving. I’m really fucking sorry about that.
Not to mention a lot of these people also aren’t afraid to be non-PC and drop racial slurs like “those chinks” or of the sort because they’re so ~edgy~ and their a minority being oppressed by those fucking slanted eyed fucks.
OH GOD, that reminds me of something I found while dogsitting at one of my mom’s clients’ home. They’re your average upperclass white yuppie liberals, first off. In a David Sedaris book (oh hey look orientalist asshole how meta), there was this postcard to a Korean corporation that was white whine personified. “OMG HDU eat dog HDU so mean I will not BUY FROM YOU if you CONTINUE to eat dog”. I was like “Oh god no, please walk away”. White people and their obsession with saving the animals from savage POC who have existed with their culture for thousands of years even before whiteness was a thing. They should not be allowed to letter write.
But yeah, I mean, come on, this is just grade school shit. Even in countries that weren’t formerly (genocidally!) invaded by the Western horde, they’re still hella affected by white supremacist systems and white navel gazing. Orientalism is no joke.
